These fatty acids are not produced by the body, and so the need to outsource them from animals and plants with high levels of Omega-3, such as flaxseed, walnuts, beans, fish, and olive oil.

It’s true that some plant sources, like flaxseed, for instance, has more Omega-3 content than animal sources, like fish. However, the type of Omega-3 found in flaxseed is ALA which the body still has to convert to EPA and DHA. And so what experts usually consider as good sources of Omega-3 are fishes like halibut, mackerel, and tuna.

Then again, experts themselves are not going to recommend that you eat fish every day. The reason is that the fish might have come from contaminated waters, putting you in greater danger for heavy metal poisoning. What they will advise you in order to have your daily requirement of Omega-3 served nonetheless is to take Omega-3 supplements, the most popular of which is fish oil.
